TOWN OF CHEVY CHASE SECTION 4

(Montgomery County)

A Resolution to amend the Charter of the Town of
Chevy Chase Section 4, removing the necessity of approval
by the Montgomery County Council of Town ordinances and
regulations, by deleting language from Chapter 76,
Section 76—10(a) of the Montgomery County Code, 1972.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COMMITTEE OF CHEVY CHASE
SECTION 4, That Section 76-10 (a) of Chapter 76 of the
Montgomery County Code be and it hereby is amended to
read as follows:

Section 76-10. ADOPTION OF REGULATIONS BY CITIZENS'
COMMITTEE; PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF REGULATIONS, ETC.

(a) The committee [subject to the approval of the
County Council] shall adopt such regulations with respect
to garbage, sanitation, buildings, tearing up of streets,
operations of vehicles, care of property, removal of snow
and ice, or other police or health matters as the
committee deems necessary for the welfare and government
of Chevy Chase Section 4. The committee also is
empowered to adopt reasonable and proper penalties for
violations of the regulations governing Chevy Chase
Section 4; and the committee may, in addition to
enforcing such regulations by criminal prosecution, bring
suit in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, in the
name of Chevy Chase Section 4, to obtain a decree, order
or judgment of that court compelling, by injunction or
otherwise, compliance by any person with such
regulations.

SNOW ORDINANCE

WHEREAS, The Town Council of Chevy Chase Section 4
has determined that effective regulation of public
parking within the Town in the event of snow storms or
icy road conditions is necessary, and

WHEREAS, Section 9 of the present Town Regulations
for Chevy Chase Section 4 is inadequate for such
regulation, now therefore,

BE IT ENACTED, BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF CHEVY CHASE
SECTION 4, That Section 9 of the Town Regulations, be and
