Resolution be published in at least one weekly newspaper
of general circulation not less than four (4) times at
weekly intervals within the period of at least forty (40)
days after the adoption of this Resolution, subject to
petition for referendum as provided by law.

CHARTER AMENDMENT NO. 24
A Resolution of The Commissioners of Aberdeen
adopted pursuant to the authority of Article 11E of the
Constitution of Maryland and of Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and amendments
thereto), title "Corporations — Municipal", to amend the
Charter of The Commissioners of Aberdeen by repealing and
re-enacting, with amendments, Section 16 of the Code of
Public Local- Laws of Harford County (1965 Edition and
amendments thereto), title "Harford County", subtitle
"Aberdeen", expanding the authority of the Commissioners
to pay pensions to retired persons, who have reached the
age of 65 years with twenty (20) or more years of service
with the town or, after twenty years of service, upon a
determination by the Commissioners that an employee is
suffering from a disability rendering him or her
incapable of performing a municipal service reasonably
related to his or her capability without regard to age.
SECTION 1. Be It Resolved, Ordained and Enacted
by The Commissioners of Aberdeen, by authority of Article
11E of the Constitution of Maryland and of Article 23A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and
amendments thereto) that Section 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Harford County (1965 Edition and amendments
thereto), being Article 13 of the Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Harford County", subtitle "Aberdeen", be
and the same is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
16. Tenure of Officers; Retirement
(a) The term of the officers appointed by the
Commissioners provided for in this Charter shall begin as
of the day of the respective appointments and such
offices shall be held by appointees until removed from
office, resignation or death and the Commissioners may
