STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23—11 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, the State
Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at a Special Election held in St. Mary's County,
Maryland on July 23, 1974, an Act known as Chapter 583 of
the Acts of 1974 was submitted to the voters of St.
Mary's County under the provisions of Chapter 583, said
Act being as follows:
An ACT concerning St. Mary's County — Gasoline,
Petroleum, or Chemical Manufacturing. For the purpose of
prohibiting certain chemical or catalytic manufacturing,
chemical fabrication, gasoline processing, or refining of
petroleum or petroleum products in St. Mary's County and
providing for the submission of this Act to the qualified
voters of St. Mary's County for their adoption or
rejection.
And it is hereby certified that at said election,
3,475 votes were cast for the adoption of said Chapter
583 and 6,782 votes were cast against the adoption of
said Chapter 583, the said Chapter 583 of the Acts of
1974 has therefore failed of ratification by the
qualified voters of St. Mary's County.

Administrative Board of Election Laws of the State of
Maryland, Done at the City of Annapolis, this 24th day of
August, In the Year of Our Lord, One Thousand, Nine
Hundred and Seventy—four.
