In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill
1444.

This bill allows certain persons in Anne Arundel
County to become eligible for certain property tax
credits by amending Section 12F(e) of Article 81 of the
Annotated Code.

Senate Bill 1 (First Extraordinary Session), which I
signed into law today, repealed Section 12F, and
substituted a new, comprehensive system of property tax
credits for those previously authorized on a local basis.
This bill is inconsistent with Senate Bill 1 and could
create serious problems of statutory construction, if
signed.

For this reason, I have vetoed House Bill 1444.

Beverages Licenses

AN ACT concerning

Anne Arundel County — Alcoholic Beverages

FOR the purpose of providing that Anne Arundel County may
issue a Beer, Wine and Liquor License which
authorizes the holder to keep for sale and sell
beer, wine and liquor at any establishment within
the county for consumption on the premises only.
