VETOES

May 15, 1975.
Honorable John Hanson Briscoe
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill
1425.

This bill creates a Complaint Evaluation Board of
Baltimore City, and authorizes it to investigate certain
complaints made against members of the Baltimore City
Police Department.

Senate Bill 642, which I signed into law today,
accomplishes the same purpose as House Bill 1425, and is
somewhat more precise in certain particulars. Therefore,
it is unnecessary for me to sign the House Bill.

For this reason, I have vetoed House Bill 1425.

Sincerely,

/s/ Marvin Mandel

Governor

House Bill No. 1444 - Anne Arundel County; Property Tax

Arundel County; and clarifying language.
