VETOES

This bill repeals Chapter 129 of the Laws of
Maryland of 1971 which authorized Baltimore City to
borrow eighteen million dollars for the construction,
rehabilitation and equipping of school buildings and
other auxiliary facilities.

House Bill 1347, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on April 22, 1975, accomplishes
the same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 934.

AN ACT concerning

Frederick County — Gambling

FOR the purpose of providing provisions applicable to
paddlewheel games; providing a fee for the issuance
of permits; clarifying language; and generally
relating to gambling in Frederick County.

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill
973.

This bill establishes certain exceptions to the
State's gaming laws relative to the activities of certain
charitable and similar organizations in Frederick County.

Senate Bill 1012, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 15, 1975, adds Frederick
County to the list of counties specially exempted from
the gaming laws by Section 255 of Article 27. The
