JOINT RESOLUTIONS

WHEREAS, Unemployment is rising every day in
Maryland, the use of Maryland meat and bread will aid
employment for our Maryland citizens; and

WHEREAS, More Maryland employment will in turn mean
more revenue for the State Treasury; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the Department of General Services cooperate with the
Maryland Department of Agriculture to find ways to use
Maryland meat and bread in Maryland Institutions; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to
The Honorable Marvin Mandel, The Honorable Blair Lee, The
Honorable Louis L. Goldstein, Mr. George Lewis, Secretary
of the Department of General Services, and Mr. Young D.
Hance, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture.

A House Joint Resolution concerning

Diploma Schools of Nursing

FOR the purpose of establishing a commission to study the
problems of registered nurses and to make a certain
report.

WHEREAS, Hospital Diploma Schools of Nursing have
educated the majority of practicing Registered Nurses in
the State of Maryland; and

WHEREAS, Registered Nurses educated in a hospital's
academic and clinical setting are fully prepared upon
licensing to undertake their full scope of duties to
patients; and

WHEREAS, The Health Services Cost Review Commission
has questioned certain financial aspects of educating
nurses in Diploma Schools, suggesting new public policy
which would prohibit hospital patients from contributing
for education of nurses; and

WHEREAS, Any such Commission ruling would threaten
