from the local governments involved, General Assembly
representatives from the area, appropriate State
education agencies, the Department of State Planning, and
the Governor's office within the group making the study
and that the Council include its findings and
recommendations in its annual report to the General
Assembly in January 1976; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to
the Governor and the Maryland Council for Higher
Education.

A House Joint Resolution concerning
Decent Supply of Food
FOR the purpose of requesting [[that all residents of
this State shall be assured and provided a decent
and reasonable supply of human food at all times.
Every member of this Body is deeply disturbed that
in the United States of America and in our great State of
Maryland large numbers of people do not have an adequate
supply of food.
This is doubly distressing because the United States
is the richest nation on earth, and has an excess of
agricultural production that can and should be
distributed to people in need.
The present programs for providing needy people with
food are totally inadequate and do not meet the standards
for civilized society.
Therefore, this State should make every effort to
ensure that each and every one of its citizens receive an
adequate supply of food and do not go hungry; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
this Body requests the Governor of Maryland and every
State official to ensure that each and every citizen of
