JOINT RESOLUTIONS

and

WHEREAS, The increasing use of the Zoo has strained
the personnel greatly, impeding program and development;
and

WHEREAS, The security and safety of both personnel
and visitors is constantly threatened, thereby reducing
both use and development; and

WHEREAS, The Park requires immediate reforestation
and corollary upkeep; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the Department of Natural Resources be requested to:

A.    Assist the Director of the Zoo, in enhancing
this enjoyable natural asset consistent with the goals to
be set by both directors;

B.    Assist the Zoo in meeting security needs;

C.    Assist in a cooperative effort to add to the
attracting and enjoyment of visitors to this
internationally known and recognized facility and
resource; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to
the Governor; Secretary James Coulter of the Department
of Natural Resources; and Mr. Arthur Watson, Director of
the Baltimore City Zoo, Baltimore, Maryland.
