JOINT RESOLUTIONS
RESOLVED, That the Commission shall be charged with
obtaining such information as is available on the
productivity and marketing of seafood from other seafood
producing regions. It should compare and evaluate other
seafood producing and marketing systems with those of the
Maryland seafood industry. The Commission shall examine
methods of increasing production, improving harvesting
and processing, and creating improved methods of
marketing. The Commission shall make recommendations and
establish priorities for improving the seafood industry
in Maryland to the 1977 session of the Maryland General
Assembly; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to
The Governor of Maryland, Marvin Mandel; Secretary of
Economic and Community Development, Joseph G. Anastasi;
Secretary of Natural Resources, James B. Coulter;
President of the Senate, Steny H. Hoyer; Speaker of the
House, John Hanson Briscoe; President, Executive Director
of the Industry Association; Secretary of Agriculture;
University of Maryland Center for [[Estaurine]] Estuarine
Studies; and Secretary, Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene.

A Senate Joint Resolution concerning
Alternate Modes of Transportation
FOR the purpose of requesting the Maryland Department of
Transportation to modify its current planning
procedures to include all modes of transportation
and to provide for a balanced, multimodal
transportation system for the State of Maryland.
WHEREAS, The current transportation procedure, as
defined in Article 89B, Sections 211-I and 211-0 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, direct the Maryland
Department of Transportation to produce 5 and 20 year
Highway Needs Studies; and
WHEREAS, These directives do not provide for the
evaluation of all modes of transportation; and
WHEREAS, The continuing need for reducing energy
