JOINT RESOLUTIONS
City and difficulties exist in Woodlawn; and
WHEREAS, To expand the downtown site will be a
project concomitant with the needs of the citizens of
Maryland; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the Maryland Congressional Delegation be requested to
urge the Congress of the United States to quickly accept
the Metro West site and continue to study the nature of
the Woodlawn site; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to
the Maryland Congressional Delegation as follows:
Senators Charles McC. Mathias, Jr., and J. Glenn Beall,
Jr., Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C., 20510; and
Members of Congress Robert E. Bauman, Clarence D. Long,
Paul S. Sarbanes, Majorie S. Holt, Gladys N. Spellman,
Goodloe E. Byron, Parren J. Mitchell, and Gilbert Gude,

A Senate Joint Resolution concerning
Senior Citizens' Discount Cards
FOR the purpose of requesting that Senior Citizens'
Discount Cards be recognized in all the subdivisions
of Maryland.
One of the groups of Maryland citizens that has been
hit the hardest by the current economic recession is our
senior citizens. Our senior citizens, many of whom are
on fixed incomes, have suffered through the throes of
inflation that has drastically reduced the buying power
of their dollar.
In Baltimore City, there is a program whereby senior
citizens receive discount cards which are honored in
various establishments. These discount cards permit
senior citizens to more fully enjoy their golden years.
Unfortunately, it has come to the notice of this
Body that these discount cards are not recognized in
every subdivision. This is unfortunate because the
