Garrett County — Evangelical United Brethren Churches

FOR the purpose of [[permitting]] providing that certain
legal provisions do not affect the right of local
churches in Garrett County formerly affiliated with
the Evangelical United Brethren Church to retain
title to their property although they withdraw from
the West Virginia United Methodist Conference.

Section 313 (g)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1973 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 313(g) be and it is hereby
added to Article 23 — Corporations, of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1973 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)
to read as follows:

Article 23 — Corporations

313.

(G) [[NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF THIS
SECTION,]] NO PROVISION IN THIS SECTION SHALL BE
CONSTRUED TO PREVENT TITLE TO PROPERTY CONTROLLED BY
LOCAL CHURCHES IN GARRETT COUNTY FORMERLY AFFILIATED WITH
THE EVANGELICAL UNITED BRETHREN CHURCH WHO WITHDRAW FROM
THE WEST VIRGINIA UNITED METHODIST CONFERENCE [[SHALL
BE]] FROM BEING RETAINED BY THE LOCAL CHURCHES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
