hold office for a term of six years and be elected as
follows:
(i) Two members of the board shall be elected in the
November general election of 1976, and every six years
thereafter, to replace the [two] THREE interim incumbent
members of the board whose terms expire in [1973] 1975,
[[and]] [1974] [[1976]] 1977, and 1979. OF THE TWO
MEMBERS WHOSE TERMS EXPIRE IN 1975, THE ONE WHO HAS
SERVED ON THE BOARD THE LONGEST IS THE ONE TO WHICH THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS PARAGRAPH APPLY.
(ii) Two members of the board shall be elected in
the November general election of 1978 and every six years
thereafter, to replace the two interim incumbent members
of the board whose terms expire in [1975] [[1977]] 1975
and [1976] [[1978]] 1976.
(iii) One member of the board shall be elected in
the November general election of 19 80 and every six years
thereafter, to replace the interim incumbent member of
the board whose term expires in [1977] [[1979]] 1978.
(b) (2) [No] ANY person subject to the authority of
the Board of Education of Carroll County may NOT be
certified as a candidate. ANY CANDIDATE ELECTED TO THE
BOARD SHALL BE A RESIDENT AND REGISTERED VOTER OF CARROLL
COUNTY. ANY MEMBER WHO CEASES TO BE A RESIDENT OF
CARROLL COUNTY [[SHALL]] MAY NO LONGER BE A MEMBER OF THE
BOARD.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Section 35B(b)(4) be and it is hereby added to Article 77
- Public Education, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1969 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) to read as
follows:

35B.
(B) (4) NOMINEES AND CANDIDATES FOP MEMBERSHIP ON
THE BOARD SHALL LIMIT THEIR CAMPAIGN EXPENDITURES FROM
ALL SOURCES TO NO MORE THAN $500. ALL CANDIDATES AND
NOMINEES SHALL FILE INFORMATION RELATING TO THEIR
CAMPAIGN RECEIPTS AND EXPENDITURES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 33 OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF
MARYLAND.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
