point of the building of the school, church or other
place of worship. THE BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS MAY
NOT ISSUE MORE THAN ONE B-1 OR B-2 LICENSE FOR EVERY
2,500 OF POPULATION IN HARFORD COUNTY, NOR MORE THAN ONE
CLASS A OFF-SALE LICENSE FOR EVERY 1400 OF POPULATION,
THE POPULATION FIGURES TO BE THOSE FOUND IN THE MOST
RECENT FEDERAL CENSUS.

52A-1.

In [Howard] HARFORD County no license to sell
alcoholic beverages may be first issued after June 30,
[1971] 1975, for any building located within [five
hundred (500)] 1,000 feet of the nearest point of the
public school building. A license issued on or before
that date may be renewed for the same building and type
of license; and a license issued on or before that date
may be transferred or assigned to a new licensee for the
sale building and type of license. Any decision of the
[Howard] HARFORD County Board of Education after June 30,
[1971] 1975, to locate a public school building within
[five hundred (500) ] 1,000 feet of an existing licensee
shall not be the basis for the revocation or denial of
renewal or transfer of that alcoholic beverage license.]]

52A.

(A)    In Harford County, the board of license
commissioners [shall] MAY not approve any license to sell
alcoholic beverages within three hundred feet of any
[school,] church or other place of worship OR WITHIN ONE
THOUSAND FEET OF ANY PUBLIC SCHOOL BUILDING. This
section [shall] DOES not affect any license existing on
[June 1, 1963] JULY 1, 1975 or the renewal [or],
transfer, OR UPGRADING of such license unless transferred
to a new location. Measurement of the required distance
shall be made from the nearest point of the building of
the [proposed] establishment to the nearest point of the
building of the school, church, or other place of
worship. ANY DECISION OF THE HARFORD COUNTY BOARD OF
EDUCATION AFTER JUNE 30, 1975 TO LOCATE A PUBLIC SCHOOL
BUILDING WITHIN 1,000 FEET OF AN EXISTING LICENSEE MAY
NOT BE THE BASIS FOR THE REVOCATION OR DENIAL OF RENEWAL,
TRANSFER, OR UPGRADING OF THAT ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE
LICENSE.

(B)    IN HARFORD COUNTY THE BOARD OF LICENSE
COMMISSIONERS MAY NOT ISSUE MORE THAN (1) ONE CLASS-A
OFF-SALE LICENSE FOR EVERY 1400 OF POPULATION, OR (2) ONE
B1 AND B2 LICENSE (INCLUSIVE) FOR EVERY 2500 OF
POPULATION. HOWEVER, IN HARFORD COUNTY A B-1 TEMPORARY
LICENSE MAY BE ISSUED TO THOSE PERSONS WHO WISH AFTER SIX
