AN ACT concerning

Montgomery County - "Friendship Heights" and "The Hills"

Special Tax Area

FOR the purpose of changing the name of the Governing
Body of the special tax area called "Friendship
Heights" and "The Hills" from the "Friendship
Heights Citizens' Committee" to the "Friendship
Heights Village Council"; relating to the powers,
duties, and functions of certain county officials in
connection with this change; removing certain
obsolete and unnecessary language from these
sections; clarifying language; and making general
provision for the effects of this Act.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

The Public Local Laws of Montgomery County
Section 66—2 through 66—12
Article 16 — Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1972 Edition and 1974 Supplement, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 66-2 through 66-12 of the Public
Local Laws of Montgomery County being Article 16 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1972 Edition and
1974 Supplement, as amended) be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 16

66-2.

The county council for Montgomery County is hereby
authorized, empowered and directed to levy and cause to
be collected from the property owners at the time of the
county tax levy, for the year commencing July 1, 1914,
and ending June 30, 1915, and each succeeding year,
within the [said] villages known as "Friendship Heights"
and "The Hills", as named and created by this chapter,
ten cents on each one hundred dollars of the assessable
value of the real and personal property in [said] THE
villages, to be collected as all other county taxes in
[said] THE county are collected; to be paid over by
[said] THE county council to the treasurer of the
[committee] VILLAGE COUNCIL herein authorized to be
created, or his successors, selected by the majority of
the members of [said committee] THE village council, upon
[said] THE treasurer having been duly selected by a
majority of the members of [said committee] THE
[[village]] VILLAGE [[council]] COUNCIL, [upon said
