AN ACT concerning
Oysters — Catching and Possessing
FOR the purpose of eliminating certain prohibitions
relating to the catching and possession of oysters.
BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,
Article — Natural Resources
Section 4-1017(c)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume and 1974 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 4-1017(c) of Article - Natural
Resources, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1974 Volume
and 1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

4-1017.
(c) [A person may not catch or possess oysters
between April 15 and September 1. However, oysters
caught by April 15 may be possessed until April 26.] A
PERSON MAY POSSESS OYSTERS CAUGHT FROM THE NATURAL OYSTER
BARS OF THE STATE UNTIL ONE WEEK PAST THE CLOSE OF THE
SEASON FOR TAKING OYSTERS AS ESTABLISHED IN SECTION
4-1008 OF THIS ARTICLE. Oysters may be caught by dredge
or handscrape at any time in Worcester County and may be
shipped in the shell at any time within or from that
county. In counties where oysters may be caught from
leased areas at any time pursuant to the provisions of
Subtitle 11, a person may possess oysters at any time.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
