The [appointing body of Prince George's County and
the] County Council of Montgomery County may remove any
member from that County prior to the expiration of the
term for which he was appointed. In such case, the cause
of removal shall be stated in writing and a public
hearing held thereon. [[EACH MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION
FROM]] [[PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY SHALL SERVE AT THE
PLEASURE OF THE PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY EXECUTIVE. THE
COUNTY EXECUTIVE OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, WITH THE
APPROVAL OF A MAJORITY OF THE PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY
COUNCIL, MAY REMOVE ANY MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION
APPOINTED FROM HIS]] [[COUNTY PRIOR TO THE COMPLETION OF
HIS TERM.]] IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY THE COUNTY
EXECUTIVE MAY, WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE MAJORITY OF THE
MEMBERS OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL, REMOVE ANY MEMBER OF THE
COMMISSION APPOINTED FROM HIS COUNTY PRIOR TO THE
COMPLETION OF THE COMMISSIONER'S TERM. IN SUCH EVENT A
PUBLIC HEARING SHALL BE HELD THEREON BY THE COUNCIL
UNLESS WAIVED IN WRITING BY THE COMMISSION MEMBER SOUGHT
TO BE REMOVED. THE FOREGOING PRINCE GEORGE'S PROVISION
OF THIS SECTION SHALL NOT APPLY TO ANY PRINCE GEORGE'S
MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION IN OFFICE ON JUNE 1, 1975 FOR
THE MEMBER'S CURRENT TERM OF OFFICE. Any vacancy
occurring in the membership of the Commission from
Montgomery County for any cause shall be filled by the
County Council, for the unexpired term and any vacancy
occurring in the membership of the Commission from Prince
George's County shall be filled in the manner provided
herein for the making of appointments to the Commission.
A person appointed to fill any such vacancy for an
unexpired term shall be a member of the same political
party as was represented by the member who vacated the
office.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, this Act
shall take effect [[July]] June 1, 1975.
