generally; annual audit and accounting; employee's
retirement plan; district not Article 11E "Municipal

[(c) Removal for cause. A County governing body
may removed for cause, prior to the expiration of the
ten for which the commission member was appointed, any
member of the commission appointed by that County
governing body. In such a case, the cause for removal
shall be stated in writing and a public hearing held
thereon. At such a hearing an opportunity shall be given
to the commission member in question to present a defense
in his or her own behalf. In Montgomery County, the
removal of members of the commission by the County
Executive shall be subject to the approval of the County
Council. Any vacancy occurring in the membership of the
commission for any reason shall be filled as provided in
this section for the unexpired portion of the term.]
(C) REMOVAL. IN MONTGOMERY AND PRINCE GEORGE'S
COUNTIES, THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE [[EACH MEMBER OF THE
COMMISSION SHALL SERVE AT THE PLEASURE OF THE COUNTY
EXECUTIVE OF HIS COUNTY. EACH OF THE COUNTY EXECUTIVES
OF MONTGOMERY AND PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTIES]] MAY, WITH
THE APPROVAL OF THE MAJORITY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNTY
COUNCIL OF HIS COUNTY, REMOVE ANY MEMBER OF THE
COMMISSION APPOINTED FROM HIS COUNTY PRIOR TO THE
COMPLETION OF THE COMMISSIONERS TERM[[; BUT]]. IN SUCH
EVENT A PUBLIC HEARING SHALL BE HELD THEREON. UNLESS
WAIVED IN WRITING BY THE COMMISSION MEMBER SOUGHT TO BE
REMOVED. AT SUCH HEARING AN OPPORTUNITY SHALL BE GIVEN
TO THE COMMISSION MEMBER IN QUESTION TO PRESENT A DEFENSE
IN HIS OR HER OWN BEHALF, THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
SUBSECTION [[MAY]] SHALL NOT APPLY TO ANY MEMBER OF THE
COMMISSION IN OFFICE [[AT THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS
ACT]] ON JUNE 1, 1975 FOR THE MEMBER'S CURRENT TERM OF
OFFICE. ANY VACANCY OCCURRING IN THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE
COMMISSION FOR ANY REASON SHALL BE FILLED AS PROVIDED IN
THIS SECTION FOR THE UNEXPIRED PORTION OF THE TERM.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect [[July]] June 1, 1975.
