Article 12

7-7.

(c) When deemed necessary or advisable to purchase
trucks or other road building or repair equipment it
shall [not] be necessary for [said] THE County
Commissioners to advertise for bids on [the same but] ANY
PURCHASES WHERE THE PURCHASE PRICE EXCEEDS $1,500 AND
they shall sake all due and reasonable effort to purchase
the same at the lowest possible price and, except in
cases where equipment can be obtained to the advantage of
[said] THE county by purchasing at public or forced
sales, shall circularize local or other dealers handling
or selling the type of equipment needed, giving all
specifications and requirements[, and said]. THE County
Commissioners fare hereby authorized to] MAY trade in old
equipment on new purchases[, without asking for bids,] OR
DISPOSE OF OLD EQUIPMENT whenever they deem the same
advisable or expedient. [Provided, however, that said]
THE County Commissioners shall [not expend more than
$125,000.00 for road machinery and equipment in any one
year] BUDGET THE AMOUNT TO BE EXPENDED FOR ROAD MACHINERY
AND EQUIPMENT EACH YEAR.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
health and safety and having been passed by a yea and nay
vote supported by three—fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT concerning

Queen Anne's County — Compensation of Bailiff and Crier

FOR the purpose of increasing the amount of per diem sum
for each day the Bailiff or Crier attends the
Circuit Court in Queen Anne's County.
