AN ACT concerning
Pesticide Applicator's Law
FOR the purpose of revising the Maryland Pesticide Law to
include and define private applicator, public agency
applicator, certified applicator, general use
pesticide, restricted use pesticide, registered
employee and supervision; providing for accumulation
of monies in the pesticide fund up to $100,000;
defining the duties of the Secretary of Agriculture;
authorizing inspection by the Secretary of any
pesticide device and any pesticide establishment;
providing for certificates of competence for
pesticide applicators, and charging a fee for such
certificate as determined by the Secretary of
Agriculture; providing for licensing of certain
businesses and charging a fee for such license as
determined by the Secretary of Agriculture; removing
certain exemptions; providing for registering of
certain employees engaged in pest control; requiring
that pest control operators issued certificates
without examination pass examinations to comply with
Federal law; providing for validity of licenses,
permits and certificates unless changed by federal
law or regulation; clarifying language; and
generally amending the Maryland Pesticide
Applicator's Law.
