AN ACT concerning

Election Code — Perjury

FOR the purpose of providing that any person convicted of
falsely swearing to any oath which may be prescribed
by the State Administrative Board of Election Laws
is guilty of perjury; and correcting certain
language.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 33 - Election Code

Section 24-12

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 24-12 of Article 33 - Election
Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 33 — Election Code

24-12.

Any person [who shall be] convicted of wilfully and
falsely swearing or affirming in taking any oath or
affirmation prescribed by or upon any examination
provided for in this article , OR PRESCRIBED BY THE STATE
ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS, shall be guilty of
perjury, and shall be punished according to the laws of
the State for such offense.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
