AN ACT concerning

Election Code - Violations

FOR the purpose of providing that a conviction of any
criminal violation of the Election Code disqualifies
, for a period of time, a person from serving as an
election judge, board member, or as an employee of
an election board.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 33 — Election Code

Section 21-27

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 24-27 of Article 33 - Election
Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 33 — Election Code

24-27.

Any misdemeanor under this article for which no
penalty is specially provided shall be punished by
imprisonment in jail for not less than thirty days nor
more than six months, or by a fine of not less than ten
dollars ($10) nor more than two hundred and fifty dollars
($250); or by both such fine and imprisonment, in the
discretion of the court. CONVICTION OF ANY CRIMINAL
VIOLATION OF THIS ARTICLE SHALL DISQUALIFY THE PERSON
CONVICTED FROM SERVING AS AN ELECTION JUDGE, BOARD
MEMBER, OR AS AN EMPLOYEE OF AN ELECTION BOARD FOR A
PERIOD OF FOUR YEARS FOLLOWING THE CONVICTION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
