of Chapter 425 of the Acts of 1971, said section
relating to the time by which projects contained in
the General Construction Loan of 1971 must be placed
under contract insofar as the provisions of said
section relate to an item contained in said act for
the Board of Public Works for the construction of a
House of Delegates Office Building, waiving the
provisions of Section 10 of Chapter 179 of the Acts
of 1972, said section relating to the time by which
projects contained in the General Construction Loan
of 1972 must be placed under contract insofar as the
provisions of said section relate to an item
contained in said act for the Board of Public Works
providing a supplementary appropriation for the
construction of a House of Delegates Office
Building, and repealing and re—enacting, with
amendments, Section 5(A)(1) (e) of Chapter 425 of the
Acts of 1971, amending the General Construction Loan
of 1971 with particular reference to an
appropriation therein on page 905 of the Acts of
1971 for the Board of Public Works redesignating
that appropriation to include construction of a
tunnel connecting the State House, Legislative
Services Building, House of Delegates Office
Building, and Senate Office Building, and
improvements to Bladen Street and College Avenue.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the provisions of Section 10 of Chapter
425 of the Acts of 1971, be and they are hereby waived,
insofar as they impose a time for placing under contract
the item in Section 5(A) (1) (e) of Chapter 425 of the Acts
of 1971, and found on page 905 of the Acts of 1971,
making available $6,053,000 for the Board of Public Works
for construction of a House of Delegates Office Building.
With the waiver of this provision as applied to this
item, there shall be allowed an additional period of two
years beginning on the effective date of this Act, for
placing this project under contract. If the project has
not been placed under contract within a period of two
years, beginning on the effective date of this Act, it
shall be deemed to have been abandoned and the other
provisions of Section 10 of Chapter 425 of the Acts of
1971 shall be fully effective as to it.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of Section 10 of Chapter 179 of the Acts of
1972 be and they are hereby waived insofar as they impose
a time for placing under contract the item in Section
5(A) (1)(f) of Chapter 179 of the Acts of 1972, and found
on page 496 of the Acts of 1972, making available
$1,450,000 for the Board of Public Works for
