786                                          LAWS OF MARYLAND                        [Ch. 175

STATIONS, hydrants, meters, valves [and equipment,
appurtenances] TOGETHER WITH ALL APPURTENANT EQUIPMENT
AND FACILITIES, and for the purpose of financing the
acquistion of any properties, rights, easements and
franchises relating thereto, extending FOR EXAMPLE AND
WITHOUT LIMITATION, from the Savage River Dam in Garrett
County, Maryland, to the Ridgedale Reservoir in the City
of Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland, OR EXTENDING
FROM ANY OTHER PLACE IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND TO AND INTO
ANY PLACE IN ALLEGANY COUNTY, MARYLAND with connections
to the municipal corporations, Sanitary districts,
special taxing areas, towns, plants, industries, and
establishments in Allegany County, Maryland, are
authorized and empowered to borrow from time to time in
such amounts as the Board of County Commissioners shall
deem necessary money on the faith and credit of said
county and to issue therefor promissory notes or bonds or
other certificates of indebtedness of the county[;
provided, however, that in the aggregate said notes,
bonds, or other certificates of indebtedness shall not
exceed the sum of Nine Million Five Hundred Thousand
Dollars ($9,500,000.00). Said notes, bonds or other
certificates of indebtedness shall bear a rate of
interest not exceeding five per centum per annum. If
said sum or any portion thereof shall be borrowed by the
sale of notes, bonds or other certificates of
indebtedness, they shall be designated as "Water System
Bonds of 1961". They shall] ("BONDS"), AT ONE TIME OR
FROM TIME TO TIME, IN AN AMOUNT NOT EXCEEDING IN THE
AGGREGATE NINETEEN MILLION DOLLARS ($19,000,000). THE
BONDS SHALL BEAR SUCH DESIGNATION, be of such
denomination or denominations, callable or noncallable,
and of such type or form and of such period of maturity
as the BOARD OF County Commissioners of Allegany County
may deem advisable AND THE BOARD MAY BY RESOLUTION FIX
THE RATE OR RATES OF INTEREST TO BE PAID ON THE BONDS OR
THE METHOD OF DETERMINING THE SAME. The [notes,] bonds
[or other certificates of indebtedness] shall be signed
by the President of the County Commissioners of Allegany
County and the Treasurer of the County and shall have the
corporate seal of Allegany County affixed thereto duly
attested by the Clerk to the County Commissioners. The
interest coupons attached to each of said bonds shall
bear the facsimile signature of the President of the
County Commissioners printed, lithographed or engraved
thereon. [The principal amount of said notes, bonds or
other certificates of indebtedness and the interest
payable thereon shall be and remain exempt from taxation
by the State of Maryland and by the counties and
municipalities of the State. If any such bonds, notes or
other certificates of indebtedness shall be sold, the
provisions of Sections 10 and 11 of article 31 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), as amended
from time to time, shall be complied with.] ANY BONDS
