[45]] [[and 46 as they appear in the 1973 Supplement to
the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County.]]

Article 1
45.

The County Commissioners of Allegany County, after
their election and qualification, shall at the first
meeting in each new term, elect one of their number to be
President of the County Commissioners of Allegany County,
who shall preside at all meetings of said County
Commissioners. The County Commissioners shall meet at
least twice in each week in the office of the County
Commissioners in the Court House, Cumberland, Maryland;
but if a holiday occurs on a meeting date or if County
business requires the presence of the County
Commissioners outside the County on a meeting date, they
may meet only once in the week in which this event
occurs. Each Commissioner shall receive as full
compensation for all of his services, the sum of
[twenty-four hundred dollars ($2,400)] $6,500 per year
and the President of the County Commissioners shall
receive the sum of [two thousand six hundred dollars
($2,600)] $6,700 per year, all of said salaries payable
semi—monthly.

46.

[The County Commissioners of Allegany County shall
each be paid nine hundred dollars ($900.00) per annum,
payable monthly, for services rendered as road
commissioners of said County in addition to the
compensation provided by section 45. The attorney to the
Board of County Commissioners shall be paid three hundred
dollars ($300.00) per annul, payable monthly, for legal
services rendered to said Board as Road Commissioners, in
addition to the compensation paid him as attorney to the
Board of County Commissioners.] THE ATTORNEY TO THE BOARD
OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL BE PAID $300 PER ANNUM,
PAYABLE MONTHLY, FOR LEGAL SERVICES RENDERED TO SAID
BOARD AS ROAD COMMISSIONERS, IN ADDITION TO THE
COMPENSATION PAID HIM AS ATTORNEY TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act shall not be construed to extend
or apply to the County Commissioners of Allegany County
in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
provisions of this Act shall take effect with the next
term of office.
