AN ACT concerning

Dorchester County — Building Permits

FOR the purpose of repealing certain unnecessary local
laws of Dorchester County concerning building
permits required in certain instances.

Article 10 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1961 Edition)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 322 of the Public Local Laws of
Dorchester County being Article 10 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1961 Edition) be and it is hereby
repealed:

[322.

(a)  It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or
corporation to build, erect, repair or improve any
building or structure in Dorchester County, costing in
excess of five hundred dollars ($500.00), without having
first obtained from the County Commissioners of
Dorchester County a building permit therefor.

(b)   Any person, firm or corporation violating the
provisions of this section shall, upon conviction
thereof, be subject to a penalty of two hundred dollars
($200.00), payable to the County Commissioners of
Dorchester County, aforesaid, one—half of which shall be
paid by the owners of said property and one—half by the
contractor or builder, said penalty to be recovered as
small debts are recovered.]
