Chapter 30

AN ACT to amend Chapter 27, title "In General," "Subtitle
1. Fire Tax Areas," by adding a new Section 27-3A,
title "Length of Service Award Program," to
recognize the valuable contribution made by the
active volunteers within the Fire/Rescue Service of
Montgomery County, Maryland by providing that any
volunteer who has completed twenty-five (25) years
of certified active service upon reaching age 62
shall receive a payment of $100 per month for life;
to provide for the method of funding of such
payments by the several departments and rescue
squads from County tax funds or from the funds of
such departments; to establish the procedures for
the administration of the program and certification
of eligible recipients by the Personnel Committee of
the Montgomery County Fire Board, including rights
of appeal; and to set forth active membership
standards using a point system which each volunteer
shall meet annually for twenty-five (25) years in
