COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

(5) years of experience in custodial work, preferably in
school or public building; or any equivalent combination
of education of experience.

(100)  Chief Deputy Sheriff

Graduation from a recognized high school or
possession of a high school Equivalence Certificate; plus
five (5) years of experience in law enforcement or
correctional work at the level of Deputy Sheriff.

(101)  Deputy Sheriff

Graduation from a recognized high school or
possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Minimum age twenty-one (21) years, maximum age forty-five
(45) years. Possession of or eligibility for a Maryland
motor vehicle operator's license.

(102)  Warden

Graduation from a recognized high school plus
advance courses in penology and/or correctional
management practice and five (5) years of experience in
penal, correctional or closely related work, including
two (2) years in a responsible administrative capacity;
or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

(103)  Correctional Officer

Graduation from a recognized high school; or
completion of the eighth grade, plus (4) years
correctional, penal police, military or related guard or
security experience; or any equivalent combination of
training and experience.

(104)  Recreation Supervisor

Graduation from a recognized college or
university, preferably with a major in recreation or a
related field, plus two (2) years experience as
recreational leader, recreation center director or
supervisory responsibilities.

(105)  Recreation Center Coordinator

Graduation from a recognized college or
university preferably with a major in recreation or a
related field, plus one (1) year experience as a
recreational leader, recreation center director or
supervisory responsibilities.
