(B) ANY EMPLOYEE REPRESENTED BY THE ANNE ARUNDEL
COUNTY PROFESSIONAL FIRE FIGHTERS LOCAL 1563,
INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS (I.A.F.F.)
AFL-CIO-CLC, WHO IS DIRECTED BY COMPETENT AUTHORITY TO
REPORT FOR WORK ON AN EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT OUTSIDE HIS
REGULAR WORK DAY SHALL BE COMPENSATED AT THE APPROPRIATE
HOURLY RATE FOR ALL SUCH HOURS OF CALL-IN WORK, BUT NOT
LESS THAN FOUR (4) TIMES THE EMPLOYEES APPROPRIATE
HOURLY RATE. FOR PURPOSES OF THIS SUBSECTION, THE
APPROPRIATE HOURLY RATE SHALL BE COMPUTED BY DIVIDING THE
ANNUAL SALARY SET FORTH IN SECTION 1-216(C) OF THIS
ARTICLE BY FIFTY-TWO (52) , AND DIVIDING THE RESULT
THEREOF BY FIFTY-SIX (56).

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That in
accordance with the provisions of Section 21—301 of the
Anne Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements),
Title 21, "General Provisions, Penalties and Rules of
Interpretation", Subtitle 3, "Rules of Interpretation",
the catchlines or section headings of the several
sections of this Ordinance are intended as mere
catchwords to indicate the contents of said Section, and
shall not be deemed or taken to he titles of such
Sections, nor as any part of said Section.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That if any
provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof to
any person or circumstance is held invalid for any
reason, such invalidity shall not affect the other
provisions or any other application of this Ordinance
which can be given effect without the invalid provisions
or application, and to this end, all the provisions of
this Ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Ordinance shall take effect forty—five (45) days from the
date it becomes law provided, however, that the
provisions thereof shall be applied retroactively to July
1, 1973.
