COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

(6)    TO ASSIST, DEVELOP AND CONDUCT PROGRAMS OF
CONSUMER EDUCATION AND INFORMATION THROUGH PUBLICATIONS
AND OTHER MEDIA PREPARED FOR GENERAL DISTRIBUTION.

(7)    TO PERFORM SUCH      OTHER FUNCTIONS AS      MAY BE
NECESSARY OR APPROPRIATE      FOR THE PROTECTION     OF THE
WELFARE OF THE BUSINESS      COMMUNITY AND THE        PRIVATE
CONSUMER.

(8)    TO TAKE SUCH STEPS AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO
ENFORCE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE.

(9)    TO ESTABLISH SUCH PROCEDURES AND FORMS AS MAY
BE APPROPRIATE OR NECESSARY TO ACCOMPLISH THE PURPOSE OF
THIS SUBTITLE.

(10)   TO SCHEDULE HEARINGS TO PROCESS VIOLATIONS OF
THIS SUBTITLE.

SECTION 1-904

(A)    COMPLAINTS OF VIOLATIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE MAY
BE FILED WITH THE BOARD ON SUCH FORMS AS IT DEEMS
NECESSARY OR PROPER. EACH COMPLAINT SHALL NAME THE
OFFENDING PARTY, SHALL GIVE THE PARTICULARS OF THE
ALLEGED VIOLATION, AND SHALL BE SIGNED BY THE
COMPLAINANT.

(B)    UPON FILING SUCH COMPLAINT, THE BOARD SHALL
MAKE SUCH INVESTIGATION AS IT DEEMS NECESSARY; IF IT
DETERMINES THAT REASONABLE GROUNDS EXIST FOR SAID
COMPLAINT, THE BOARD MAY ATTEMPT TO INFORMALLY ADJUST THE
COMPLAINT BY AGREEMENT OF THE PARTIES AND THE BOARD, OR
IT MAY TAKE SUCH OTHER ACTION AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH.

(C)    IF THE BOARD ELECTS TO PROCEED FORMALLY THE
COMPLAINANT AND THE PARTY ALLEGED TO HAVE VIOLATED THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE SHALL BE SERVED WITH WRITTEN
NOTICE OF THE TIME, DATE AND PLACE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING,
AND A DETAILED STATEMENT OF THE ALLEGED VIOLATION.
SERVICE OF THE NOTICE MAY BE MADE EITHER PERSONALLY OR BY
REGISTERED MAIL. NO HEARING SHALL BE SCHEDULED LESS THAN
TEN (10) DAYS FROM THE DATE OF SERVICE. ALL HEARINGS
SHALL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, AND A FULL RECORD SHALL BE
KEPT. ANY PERSON MAY OBTAIN A COPY OF THE PROCEEDINGS AT
A COST TO BE DETERMINED BY THE BOARD.

(D)    AT THE CONCLUSION OF A HEARING, THE BOARD
SHALL ENTER ITS FINDINGS, BASED UPON A PREPONDERANCE OF
THE EVIDENCE.

(E)    NOTHING HEREIN SHALL PREVENT ANY PERSON FROM
EXERCISING ANY RIGHT OR SEEKING ANY REMEDY TO WHICH HE
MIGHT OTHERWISE BE ENTITLED, OR FROM FILING ANY COMPLAINT
