MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

RESOLUTION 73-R-8

A Resolution amending the Charter of the Town of
Riverdale.

WHEREAS it is deemed to be in the best interests of
the Town of Riverdale to abolish the elected office of
the Town Treasurer and to re—enact that Section of the
Charter in order that the office shall be appointive.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Section 63-15 be
withdrawn and re—enacted as follows:

63-15. Treasurer

(a)    Treasurer appointed.

There shall be a Treasurer appointed by the Mayor
with the approval of the Council. His compensation shall
be determined by the Council. The financial powers of
the Town, except as otherwise provided by this Charter,
shall be exercised by the Treasurer under the direct
supervision of the Mayor.

(b)    Powers and Duties

Under the supervision of the Mayor the Treasurer
shall have the authority and shall be required to:

(1). Prepare at the request of the Mayor an annual
budget to be submitted by the Mayor to the
Council.

(2), Supervise and be responsible for the
disbursement of all monies and have control
over all expenditures to assure that budget
appropriations are not exceeded.

(3). Maintains general accounting system for the
Town in such form as the Council may require,
not contrary to State Law.

(4). Submit a final report of expenditures not
later than four months after the close of the
fiscal year. This report shall show actual
expenditures and budgeted figures by line
items for purpose of comparison. He shall
also submit financial reports at such other
times as way be required by the Council.

(5). Ascertain that all taxable property within the
Town is assessed for taxation.
