MUNICIPAL CHARTERS
The Mayor shall have such other powers and perform
such other duties as may be prescribed by this Charter or
may be required or him by the Council not inconsistent
with this Chapter.
63—15. Treasurer
(a) There shall be elected at the first election
of said town and every two years hereafter a Treasurer of
said town. He shall be at least 25 years of age, a
citizen of the United States, a registered voter of the
Town of Riverdale and shall have resided within the town
for one year.
(b) Said Treasurer shall have charge of the
collection of all taxes and revenues of the town and
shall upon the order of the Mayor and Common Council pay
out monies of the Town and shall perform all duties as
set forth from time to time by ordinance or resolution of
the Council.
(c) Said Treasurer shall, before assuming the
duties of his office, give bond for the faithful
discharge of his duties as such Treasurer in such sum as
may be directed by the said Mayor and Common Council;
provided, however, that said bond shall in no instance be
less than fifty thousand dollars ($50,000). In the event
of the death, resignation or removal of said Treasurer
from the corporate limits of the town, the Mayor and
Common Council shall have the right and power to select a
successor who shall serve for the unexpired term.
Compensation shall be fixed by Council action at a public
meeting.
(d) The Treasurer shall submit a final report of
expenditures not later than four months after the close
of the fiscal year, for the prior year. This report
shall show actual expenditures and budgeted figures by
line items for purposes of comparison.

All persons who qualify and wish to vote in either a
general or special election are required to register and
be on the Town's registration books to be eligible to
