MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

Rescind entire paragraph as follows:
63—13. Mayor and Council; qualifications

The governmental functions of said town shall be
vested in a Mayor and six (6) Councilmen, all of whom
shall be at least twenty—five (25) years of age and shall
have resided within the corporate limits of said town at
least two (2) years prior to election, and each of whom
shall be assessed on the books of said town for at least
one thousand dollars ($1,000.).

Re-enact the following therefor:

63—13. Mayor and Council; qualifications

The governmental functions of the Town of Riverdale
shall be vested in a Mayor and a Councilman from each
ward, all of whom shall be at least twenty—one (21)
years of age, shall have resided within the corporate
limits of said town for at least six (6) months, shall be
citizens of the United States and registered voters in
the Town of Riverdale. Each Councilman shall be
registered in the ward from which he shall have been
elected.

Delete the third paragraph of
Elections — Procedure as follows:

Section 63—15 entitled

63-15. Procedure

No elected official or appointed official of the
Town of Riverdale shall be allowed to retain and will
thereby forfeit his elected office or appointed office,
when said elected official or appointed official becomes
a bona fide, registered candidate for an elective office,
other than his incumbent office, in the Town of
Riverdale; shall be allowed to register as a candidate
for or seek election to an elective office in the Town of
Riverdale without first resigning from his said
employment.

Substitute the following:
63—15. Procedure

No appointed official of the Town shall continue in
such position after becoming a candidate for nomination
or election to any public office. Any elected official
who shall become a candidate for nomination or election
to any public office other than his own incumbent office
shall continue in said incumbent office only until the
first Monday in June of the same year.
