RISING SON

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the
amendment proposed in this resolution shall become and be
considered a part of the Charter of the Town or Rising
Sun according to the terms of the amendments, in all
respects to be effective and observed as such on December
26, 1973, unless on or before December 16, 1973, there
shall be presented to the Board of Commissioners a proper
petition for referendum as permitted by law.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the
Clerk—Treasurer of the Town of Rising Sun be, and she is
hereby specifically directed to post a complete and exact
copy of this resolution at the town office for a period
of forty days following its adoption by the Board of
Commissioners and to cause a fair summary of the proposed
amendments to be published in a newspaper of general
circulation in the town not less than four times, at
weekly intervals, within a period of at least forty days
after adoption of this resolution.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as soon
as the charter amendments hereby proposed shall become
effective either as herein provided or following a
referendum, the President of the Board of Commissioners
shall send separately by registered mail to the Secretary
of State of Maryland and to the Department of Legislative
Reference, the following information concerning the
charter amendment.,

a.    The complete text, as approved, of the
amendment.

b.    The date of the referendum election, if any,
held with respect hereto.

c.    The number of votes cast for and against the
question of this amendment whether by the Board of
Commissioners or in a referendum.

d.    The effective date of this charter amendment.

Adopted this 6th day of November, 1973, by a vote of 5 to
0.
