MARVIN MANDEL, Governor                       3137

in Baltimore City
AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws — Baltimore City

FOR the purpose of providing that a person operating a
motor vehicle in violation of the law in Baltimore
City on private property which is used by the public
in general is subject to the same laws and penalties
as if the car were being operated on a public
highway.

May 31, 1974.

Honorable John Hanson Briscoe
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill
886.

This bill provides that in Baltimore City certain
violations of the motor vehicle laws occurring on private
property generally used by the public shall be treated as
if occuring on the highways of the State.

Senate Bill 232, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 31, 1974, accomplishes
the same purpose as House Bill 886.

Therefore, it is unnecessary for me to sign House
Bill 886.

Sincerely,

/s/ Marvin Mandel

Governor
