FOR the purpose of providing that authorized and licensed
land surveyors, as well as architects and engineers,
may certify building plans for condominiums, and
clarifying the language.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill
430.

This bill provides that authorized and licensed land
surveyors may certify building plans for condominiums.

Senate Bill 714, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 31, 1974, contains a
revision and recodification of the laws of this State
relating to condominiums. In its provisions, it
accomplishes the same purpose as House Bill 430, in that
it requires a condominium plat to be certified by either
a civil engineer or licensed land surveyor.

As the purpose of House Bill 430 is accomplished by
Senate Bill 714, it is unnecessary for me to sign House
Bill 430.
