International Airport Employees

AN ACT concerning

[[Friendship International Airport Loan of 1972]]
Baltimore—Washington International Airport Employees

FOR the purpose of providing for transfer of employees
covered by agreements which expire or are terminated
with special provisions for the continuation of the
fire and rescue service at the Baltimore—Washington
International Airport in the same manner followed
historically, notwithstanding the termination of
labor agreements requiring those services and
notwithstanding State Personnel rules, and making
certain stylistic changes.

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill
944.

This bill provides for the continuation of fire and
rescue service at the Baltimore—Washington International
Airport in the same manner as has been followed
historically, notwithstanding the transfer of certain
employees to State employment.

House Bill 1585, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 31, 1974, accomplishes
the same purpose as Senate Bill 944, in addition to more
clearly expressing the relationship between the State and
the fire—rescue service employees at the Airport.

Therefore, it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 944.
