A House Joint Resolution concerning
Delmarva Peninsula Rail Service
FOR the purpose of encouraging cooperation with the
Delmarva Advisory Council in its efforts to maintain
a viable rail service on the Delmarva Peninsula.
WHEREAS, The Regional Rail Reorganization Act of
1973 has passed the Congress and has become Public Law
93-236; and
WHEREAS, A requirement of this Act is that the
Secretary of Transportation of the United States make
recommendations for continued rail service in the
Northeast; and
WHEREAS, The Secretary has now recommended a plan
which provides for abandonment of certain vital rail
service on the Delmarva Peninsula, including the carfloat
from Cape Charles, Virginia, to Little Creek, Virginia;
and
WHEREAS, This plan includes the elimination of
