2678                                         LAWS OF MARYLAND                      [Ch. 793

It [shall be] IS unlawful to sell, or expose for
sale, any fox[,] or any fox hide in Worcester and
Somerset Counties, and it [shall be] IS unlawful to ship
by [freight or express, or otherwise] ANY MANNER[,] or to
take any fox[,] or any fox hide[,] from any place within
[said] THIS State to any place outside of [said] THIS
State. [Any] UPON CONVICTION BEFORE A COURT OF COMPETENT
JURISDICTION, ANY person [or persons] violating the
provisions of this section [shall be deemed] ARE guilty
of a misdemeanor[,] and [upon conviction thereof in the
Circuit Court of said counties] shall be fined [in a sum
not exceeding fifty dollars] NOT MORE THAN $50, or
imprisoned for a term not exceeding ten days, in the
discretion of the Court.

157.

It [shall be] IS unlawful for any person to dig out
or in any manner to take from any den a female fox, or
her young whelps, or kill or in any manner cause the
death of [such] A female fox, or her young whelps, during
the period of time in which she is suckling them. [Any]
UPON CONVICTION BEFORE A COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION,
ANY person [or persons] violating the provisions of this
section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor[,] and [upon
conviction thereof in the Circuit Court of said counties]
shall be fined not less than [ten dollars] $10, nor more
than [fifty dollars') $50, or imprisoned for a term not
exceeding ten days, for every female fox or whelp [so]
dug or taken out of any den, or killed or [caused to be
killed] DYING FROM A CAUSAL RELATIONSHIP.

332.

The Sheriff of Worcester County, or his jailor, upon
[the] demand of any incorporated town in [said] THE
county, or of the Worcester County Roads Board, or other
person duly authorized to superintend the repairing and
maintenance of the public streets[, and/] or property of
[said] THE town, or the public roads of [said] THE
county, or the beaches, parks or any other public
property in [said] THE county [is authorized and required
to] SHALL deliver to [such] THE town, Board, person or
official, any [male] prisoner over [sixteen] 16 years of
age, who may be confined to [said] THE jail, under
sentence imposed by [the Circuit Court or any Justice of
the Peace of said] A COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION OF
WORCESTER County in order that [said] THE town, Board,
person or other official in charge of [said] THE public
streets or highways, or beaches, parks or other public
property may employ [such] THE prisoner at hard labor on
the public property of Worcester County [aforesaid] or of
any incorporated town of [said] THE county.
