UNEQUAL OR IRREGULAR INSTALLMENTS. IN THOSE CASES, THE
INTEREST RATE MAY NOT EXCEED A RATE WHICH WILL PROVIDE
THE MAXIMUM SIMPLE INTEREST YIELD ON THE UNPAID BALANCE
OF THE LOAN AS IS PERMITTED BY SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS
SECTION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.

AN ACT concerning

Community Colleges — Older Persons

FOR the purpose of [[allowing persons 60 years of age and
older to enroll without payment of tuition in credit
courses offered at community colleges, and relating
generally to community colleges.]] authorizing the
board of trustees of a community college to waive
the tuition charge of a senior citizen under certain
circumstances.

BY adding to

Article 77A — Higher Education

Section 1(J-1)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1969 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 1(J-1) be and it is hereby
added to Article 77A — Higher Education, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume and 1973
Supplement) to read as follows:

Article 77A — Higher Education

1.

[[ (J-1) TO ALLOW PERSONS 60 YEARS OF AGE AND
OLDER TO ENROLL, WITHOUT PAYMENT OF TUITION, IN CREDIT
COURSES OFFERED AT COMMUNITY COLLEGES. (SUCH PERSONS
SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE COMPUTATION OF FULL-TIME
