the County Treasurer of Calvert County or to the dog
warden or his deputy for a license for each dog owned or
kept by him[, and the]. THE application shall be
accompanied by a fee [of one dollar ($1.00) for each male
dog or each spayed female dog, and a fee of two dollars
($2.00) for each unspayed female dog,] TO BE DETERMINED
BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, AND PROOF THAT THE DOG HAS
RECEIVED A RABIES VACCINATION WHICH IS CURRENTLY VALID.

HOWEVER, BEFORE ESTABLISHING OR ALTERING ANY LICENSE FEE,
THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL ADVERTISE THE PROPOSED FEE
FOR THREE CONSECUTIVE WEEKS IN ALL THREE NEWSPAPERS OF

GENERAL CIRCULATION IN CALVERT COUNTY, [and provided that
a] A kennel license shall be issued for [fifteen dollars
($15.00)] $15 to persons owning or keeping not in excess
of [twenty-five (25)] 25 dogs and [that] a kennel license
shall be issued for a fee of [twenty dollars ($20.00)]
$20 to persons keeping more than [twenty—five (25)] 25
dogs. The license or fee shall be the only license or
tax required for the ownership or keeping of a dog or
dogs. The license shall be issued on a form prepared and
supplied by the County Commissioners, shall be dated and
numbered and shall contain a description of the dog. All
licenses shall be void upon the first day of July of the
following year. The County Commissioners shall furnish,
and the County Treasurer or the dog warden or his deputy
issuing the license, shall issue, with each license, a
metal tag, which shall be affixed to a substantial
collar. The collar shall be furnished by the owner, and
with the tag attached shall at all times be kept on the
dog for which the license is issued, except when confined
in the kennel or when hunting in the charge of an
attendant.

145.

Any dog seized as aforesaid and not redeemed within
[one hundred and twenty (120)] 120 hours from time of
seizure, [shall] MAY be killed by the dog warden or one
of his duly authorized deputies. IF IT IS KILLED, IT
SHALL BE KILLED in the most humane manner possible.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
191(b) of Article 56 — Licenses, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be
and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

(b) In Carroll County AND IN CALVERT COUNTY the
