BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article — Natural Resources
Section 7-205(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 7-205(a) of Article - Natural
Resources, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1974
Volume) be and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

Article — Natural Resources

7-205.

(a) The Land Reclamation Committee is created and
continued. It is composed of [nine] 11 members as
follows:

The director of the survey, who acts as chairman;
the chairman of the soil conservation district
supervisors of Allegany County, and the chairman of the
soil conservation district supervisors of Garrett County
or their designated representatives; two members or their
delegated alternates appointed by the Governor with the
advice and consent of the Senate for three—year terms to
represent the mining industry; [and] the director of the
bureau[,] ;[and] three [additional] members from the
Department appointed by the Secretary[,]; AND TWO
MEMBERS FROM THE COMMUNITY WHO DO NOT HAVE ANY INTERESTS
IN ANY [[STRIP]] MINING OPERATION, ONE TO BE A RESIDENT
OF GARRETT COUNTY AND ONE TO BE A RESIDENT OF ALLEGANY
COUNTY, APPOINTED BY THE SECRETARY. Committee members
serve without compensation and shall be reimbursed for
travel and actual expenses incurred in the performance of
their duties. Funds for expenses shall be provided for
in the budget of the survey. The Committee shall meet at
the chairman's request; and at least twice a year. A
quorum consists of at least [five] SIX members. A
majority vote of the full committee is necessary to
approve any action.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.
