Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 4-711 (a) of Article- Natural
Resources, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1974
Volume) be and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
Article — Natural Resources
4-711.
(a) A person may not set any pound or stake net or
any line of these nets which is greater in length than
one third the distance across the waters of the bay,
sound, river, creek, cove, or inlet where it is set, or
is set so that it impedes or obstructs navigation on or
blocks in any way the main channel of the bay, sound,
river, creek, cove, or inlet THE LENGTH LIMIT PROVIDED
HERE SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED TO APPLY TO ANY STAKE NET OR
LINE OF NETS RUNNING PARALLEL TO THE BANK OR SHORE OF ANY
BAY, SOUND, RIVER, CREEK, COVE, OR INLET BUT NO NET MAY
BE SET ACROSS THE MOUTH ON ANY TRIBUTARY, HARBOR OR
NAVIGATION CHANNEL.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.

AN ACT concerning
Mining — Land Reclamation Committee
FOR the purpose of increasing the size of the Land
Reclamation Committee to include two members
appointed by the Secretary of Natural Resources from
the community; specifying that those members may not
have any interests in any [[strip]] mining
operations; adjusting the quorum requirement; and
making certain stylistic changes.
