SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 40(t) of Article 10 - Attorneys at
Law and Attorneys in Fact, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be
and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

Article 10 — Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact
40.

(t) In Somerset County, (1) the State's
Attorney's salary is [six thousand dollars ($6,000) ]
$10,000.

(2)    The State's Attorney's allowance for the
expenses of his office is [three thousand dollars
($3,000)] $3,000.

(3)    THE STATE'S ATTORNEY MAY APPOINT ONE OR MORE
ASSISTANTS AT A SALARY SET BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
2-309(u)(1) of Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1974 Volume) be and it
is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows;

(u) (1) The Sheriff of Somerset County shall
receive a salary of [[$7,000]] NOT LESS THAN $10,000 and
