MARVIN MANDEL, Governor                             1907

no expense allowance. He shall appoint [[at least two
deputies, one of whom shall be the]] A chief deputy
[[and]] WHO shall receive a salary of [[$5,500]] NOT LESS

THAN $7,500.__[[The second deputy shall receive a salary

of $2,700.___Then SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE COUNTY

COMMISSIONERS, THE Sheriff may appoint additional
deputies at the compensation [[approved]] SET by the
County Commissioners PRIOR TO AMY APPOINTMENT. The
Sheriff or one or his deputies shall act as county jailer
and shall receive annual total compensation of NOT LESS
THAN $6,000.

SECTION [[2]] 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
the provisions of this Act shall not be construed to
extend or apply to the salary of the Somerset County
State's Attorney in office on the effective date of this
Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary
of the Somerset County State's Attorney shall take effect
at the beginning of the next following tern of office.

SECTION [[3]] 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
this Act shall take effect July 1, 1974.

FOR the purpose of excepting Worcester County from
certain prohibitions against certain activities on
Sunday, generally relating to certain restricted and
prohibited activities on Sunday, allowing certain
activities on Sunday in Worcester County, and
correcting an error in language.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments.
