Section 4—517(c) be and it is hereby added to Article —
Courts and Judicial Proceedings, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1974 Volume) to read as follows:

Article — Courts and Judicial Proceedings
4-517.

(C) PROHIBITION AGAINST CONFINEMENT IN JUVENILE
TRAINING SCHOOL.

IF A CHILD IS FOUND TO BE NEGLECTED, IN NEED OF
SUPERVISION, MENTALLY HANDICAPPED, OR DEPENDENT, THE
COURT MAY NOT CONFINE THE CHILD IN A JUVENILE TRAINING
SCHOOL OR ANY SIMILAR INSTITUTION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.

(Senate Bill 1101)
AN ACT concerning

Forfeiture of Motor Vehicles

FOR the purpose of amending Section 1 of Chapter 63 of
the Acts of the Regular Session of 1974 concerning
requiring the return of certain forfeited motor
vehicles or monies derived therefrom under certain
circumstances.

By repealing and re—enacting, with amendments

Section 1 of Chapter 63 of the Acts of the Regular
Session of 1974

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That if prior to [July] OCTOBER 1, 1972 and
under Section 297 of Article 27 as it [[then]] existed
prior to July 1, 1972, a court ordered a motor vehicle
forfeited at a hearing prior to the owner's trial, and
the owner was subsequently acquitted, the court ordering
the forfeiture, upon request by the owner, shall order
the motor vehicle returned to him. If the motor vehicle
has been sold or otherwise disposed of the court shall
order the return of any funds derived therefrom less all
