beginning on the effective date of this Act, for placing
the aforesaid projects under contract. If the said
projects or any of them shall not have been placed under
contract within a period of two years, beginning on the
effective date of this Act, then, as to any such project
not so placed under contract, it shall be deemed to have
been abandoned, and the other provisions of Section 10 of
Chapter 101 of the Acts of 1970, or of any other laws
imposing a time limit for placing such project under
contract shall be fully effective as to such project.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of Section 10 of Chapter 101 of the Acts of
1970, as amended by Chapter 229 of the Acts of 1972, be
and they are hereby waived, insofar as they impose a time
for placing under contract the items in Section 5(A)(7)
in said Chapter 101 of the Acts of 1970, and found on
page 329 of the Laws of 1970, making available to the
Board of Public Works, the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars
($10,000) to provide for study by the Department of
Public Improvements to determine the feasibility of
renovating the War—Memorial Building — Baltimore City,
providing equal matching funds are made available by__the
City of Baltimore. There should be allowed an additional
period of two years beginning on the effective date of
this Act, for placing the aforementioned project under
contract. If said project shall not have been placed
under contract within a period of two years, beginning on
the effective date of this Act, then, as to said project
not so placed under contract, it shall be deemed to have
been abandoned, and the other provisions of Section 10 of
Chapter 101 of the Acts of 1970 shall be fully effective
as to said project.
[[SECTION 4]] SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED,
That the provisions of Section 10 of Chapter 179 of the
Acts of 1972, be and they are hereby waived, insofar as
they impose a time for placing under contract the items
in Section 5(D)(8)(a) in said Chapter 179 of the Acts of
1972 and found on page 503 of the Laws of 1972, making
available $50,000 for the Department of Forests and
Parks, for construction of a pedestrian bridge to span
the Western Maryland Railway tracks and the C & P Canal,
Little Pool, Maryland; Section 5(H) (1) (c) in said Chapter
179 of the Acts of 1972 and found on page 508 of the Laws
of 1972, making available $22,600 for the Department of
Juvenile Services for equipment for a 30—bed Juvenile
Detention Center in Montgomery County: Section 5(J)(2)
in said Chapter 179 of the Acts of 1972 and found on page
511 of the Laws of 1972, making available $330,000 for
Patuxent Institution for Construction of Extension to
Vocational Training Building; Section 5(K)(2) in said
Chapter 179 of the Acts of 1972 and found on page 512 of
