(2) Money payable in the nature of insurance,
benefit, or relief in the event of sickness, accident,
injury, or death of any person, except that disability
income benefits are not exempt if the judgment is for
necessaries contracted for after the disability is
incurred.
(3) Wearing apparel, books, tools, instruments, or
appliances necessary for the practice of any trade or
profession except those kept for sale or barter.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.

AN ACT concerning
Election Code — 1974 Conference on Democratic
Organization and Policy
FOR the purpose of making certain non—codified and
temporary amendments to the election laws of this
State in Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland or elsewhere, temporarily amending the
effect of certain sections of these laws with
respect to the 1974 Conference on Democratic
Organization and Policy; and providing for the
effect of this Act upon certain other laws.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That
(A) FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING DELEGATES TO THE
1974 CONFERENCE ON DEMOCRATIC ORGANIZATION AND POLICY,
THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IN THIS STATE
SHALL CERTIFY TO THE STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF
ELECTION LAWS NOT LATER THAN JUNE 5, 1974, THE NUMBER OF
DELEGATES TO BE ELECTED FROM THE SEVERAL CONGRESSIONAL
DISTRICTS IN THE PRIMARY ELECTION OF THE DEMOCRATIC
PARTY. PARTY RULES SHALL GOVERN ALL ASPECTS OF DELEGATE
SELECTION TO THIS CONFERENCE;
