FACILITY OR VETERANS' ADMINISTRATION HOSPITAL.
(D) EACH PATIENT'S INDIVIDUALIZED TREATMENT PLAN SHALL
BE CONTINUOUSLY REVIEWED BY THE QUALIFIED MENTAL
HEALTH PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PLAN. WHERE, BECAUSE OF A CHANGE
IN THE PATIENT'S CONDITION OR OTHER COMPELLING REASONS,
CHANGES MUST BE MADE IN THE TREATMENT PLAN IN ORDER TO
ATTAIN THE TREATMENT GOALS AS DEVELOPED ABOVE, CHANGES
SHALL BE MADE BY THE QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPERVISING THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TREATMENT PLAN. MOREOVER, AT
LEAST EVERY NINETY (90) DAYS, EACH PATIENT SHALL RECEIVE A
MENTAL EXAMINATION FROM, AND HIS TREATMENT PLAN SHALL
BE REVIEWED BY, A QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL
OTHER THAN THE PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBLE FOR
SUPERVISING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PLAN.
(E) IN ADDITION TO THE RIGHT TO ADEQUATE TREATMENT FOR
MENTAL DISORDERS, EVERY PATIENT IN OR ADMITTED TO A
VETERANS' ADMINISTRATION HOSPITAL OR FACILITY LICENSED
BY OR UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE DEPARTMENT IS ALSO
ENTITLED TO AND SHALL RECEIVE APPROPRIATE TREATMENT
FOR ALL PHYSICAL DISORDERS. IN PROVIDING THIS MEDICAL
CARE, THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION AND THE DEPARTMENT
SHALL UTILIZE ANY EXISTING APPROPRIATE COMMUNITY-BASED
MEDICAL FACILITIES THAT ARE AVAILABLE. THE VETERANS
ADMINISTRATION AND THE DEPARTMENT SHALL COORDINATE
THE PATIENT'S TREATMENT FOR MENTAL ILLNESS WITH HIS
MEDICAL TREATMENT.
(F) IN ADDITION TO COMPLYING WITH ALL OTHER STANDARDS
FOR THE TREATMENT OF EVERY PATIENT IN OR ADMITTED TO
ANY VETERANS' ADMINISTRATION HOSPITAL OR FACILITY
LICENSED BY OR UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE
DEPARTMENT, THE FACILITY OR HOSPITAL SHALL MAKE SPECIAL
PROVISIONS FOR THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WHO ARE
CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS. THESE PROVISIONS SHALL
INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
(1) OPPORTUNITIES FOR PUBLICLY SUPPORTED EDUCATION
SUITABLE TO THE EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF THE PATIENT. THE
PROGRAM OF EDUCATION MUST, IN THE OPINION OF THE TEAM
OF QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS DESCRIBED IN
SUBSECTION (A) ABOVE, BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE PATIENT'S
ABILITIES AND MENTAL CONDITION, AND OTHERWISE BE IN THE
PATIENT'S BEST INTERESTS. FROM THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR
PUBLICLY SUPPORTED EDUCATION PROVIDED BY THE FACILITY
OR HOSPITAL, AN INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATIONAL PLAN SHALL
BE DEVELOPED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE INDIVIDUALIZED
TREATMENT PLAN BY THE TEAM OF QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH
PROFESSIONALS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SUPERVISION AND
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TREATMENT PLAN; AND
(2) RECREATION AND PLAY OPPORTUNITIES IN THE OPEN AIR,
WHERE POSSIBLE, AND IN APPROPRIATE RESIDENTIAL
FACILITIES. RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES MUST BE AT LEAST
EQUAL TO THOSE RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE TO
