155A.

THE BOARD, UPON TERMS AND CONDITIONS IT FINDS PROPER,
SHALL ISSUE TO ANY HUMANE SOCIETY AS DEFINED BY SECTION
63 OF ARTICLE 21 OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND OR
COUNTY OR MUNICIPAL DESIGNATED ANIMAL SHELTER WHICH
MAKES APPLICATION THEREFOR, A LIMITED PERMIT , THAT
SHALL DESIGNATE UPON IT THE SOLE PERSON RESPONSIBLE. FOR
THE PURPOSE OF BUYING, POSSESSING, CONTROLLING, AND
USING SODIUM PENTOBARBITAL TO EUTHANIZE INJURED, SICK,
HOMELESS, AND UNWANTED DOMESTIC PETS AND ANIMALS. THE
APPLICATION FOR THE SPECIAL PERMIT SHALL BE ACCOMPANIED
BY A FEE OF FIFTEEN DOLLARS, WHICH ALSO SHALL BE THE FEE
FOR ANNUAL RENEWAL. ANY ORGANIZATION THAT HAS
RECEIVED A PERMIT PURSUANT TO THIS SECTION IS EXEMPTED
FROM THE REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT OF SECTION 281 OF
ARTICLE 21 OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND AS TO
SODIUM PENTOBARBITAL.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public health and safety and having been passed by a yea and nay vote
supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 209
(Senate Bill 25)

AN ACT to add new Section [[23A]] 54B(d) to Article 78 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume)(1972 Supplement), title "Public
Service Commission Law," subtitle "Public Service [[Company]] Companies,"
subheading [["In General," ]] "Gas & Electric Companies," to follow
immediately after Section [[23]] 54B(c) thereof, to provide for [[the]]
notification [[required]] to landowners over, under or on whose property any
public service company intends to run a line or similar transmission device, and
generally relating to the notification given certain property owners by public
service companies.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section [[23A]] 54B(d) be and it is hereby added to
Article 78 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume) 1972
Supplement), title "Public Service Commission Law," subtitle "Public Service
[[Company]] Companies." subheading [["In General,"]] "Gas & Electric
Companies." to follow immediately after Section [123]] 54B(c) thereof, and to
read as follows:

(D) NOTWITHSTANDING THE PROVISIONS OF ANY OTHER
SECTION OF THIS ARTICLE, NOTICE OF AN INTENT TO RUN A LINE
OR SIMILAR TRANSMISSION DEVICE BY A PUBLIC SERVICE
COMPANY OVER, ON OR UNDER LAND OWNED BY ANY PERSON,
